Minnesota's Health Insurance Exchange Advisory Task Force will hold a public meeting Wednesday to bring people up to date on their planning and to get more feedback on the process.
The group, a wide-ranging mix of experts covering many aspects of the health insurance industry, advises the commerce commissioner on the development of a health insurance exchange, one of the key parts of the Affordable Care Act.
The public meeting is at 9 a.m. Wednesday, in Room 200 of the State Office Building in the Capitol complex. The agenda:
- A presentation of exchange progress, the certification application and open exchange policy options
- Public comments
Also at the meeting will be members of another task force ? the Health Care Reform Task Force ?made up of commissioners, legislators, and private sector representatives.
It's charge is to develop plans to:
- Improve access to health care for all Minnesotans?
- Lower health care costs by reforming how we pay for health care and changing the incentives, so we encourage preventive care and reward healthy outcomes, not sickness.?
- Improve the health of all Minnesotans and address the huge health disparities that plague our state.
